Privacy Policy

Summary for Everyday Users:
TagEditor.app processes files exclusively in your browser. We never upload your audio, photo, video, PDF, document, or ebook files to our servers. We do not require accounts, logins, or credit cards for free usage (up to 3 files/day). For optional Pro subscriptions, payment transactions are handled securely by Polar and email is used solely to deliver your license key.
1. Core Philosophy: Zero File Uploads
TagEditor.app is engineered as an in-browser utility. When you select or drag and drop a file into our applications, the binary data is read into your local browser memory (RAM) utilizing standard JavaScript HTML5 File and Blob APIs. No file payloads, audio streams, images, documents, or video frames are ever uploaded or transmitted across the Internet to our servers or any third-party computing infrastructure.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
- Your uploaded files, photos, music tracks, or documents (all processed in local RAM).
- Passwords, physical addresses, or tracking profiles.
- Extracted metadata (such as GPS coordinates or author names).
- Credit card numbers (for Pro users, checkout is handled off-site by Polar).
3. Log Files & Standard Web Telemetry
Like virtually all web applications, our web hosting servers automatically record standard, non-personally identifiable server access logs (such as IP addresses, browser user agent strings, referring pages, and access timestamps). This data is used solely to maintain server security, diagnose performance bottlenecks, and prevent denial-of-service attacks.
4. Cookies, Advertising Partners & Consent Mode v2
To support our free daily tier on TagEditor.app, we may display advertising served by third-party networks such as Google AdSense. Those vendors only receive cookie identifiers after you grant marketing consent through our Consent Management Platform (CMP). Until then, no advertising cookies are set and Google receives only the required Google Consent Mode v2 signals (ad_storage, ad_personalization, analytics_storage and the new ad_user_data / ad_personalization flags) so that personalised advertising and remarketing remain denied.
If you later accept advertising cookies, Google and its certified vendor partners may use cookies to serve personalised ads based on your visits to this and other websites. If you decline, Google is signalled to serve only non-personalised, contextual advertising that does not rely on past browsing profiles. You may also opt out of personalised advertising directly via Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info.
5. Our Consent Management Platform (CMP)
TagEditor runs a built-in Consent Management Platform so you stay in control of every non-essential cookie and tracking request. The CMP appears the first time you visit and can be reopened at any moment from the "Cookie Preferences" link in the site footer or the floating shield button in the bottom-left corner of the page.
The CMP exposes three consent categories that match Google Consent Mode v2:
- Necessary — always on; powers core site functionality such as remembering your CMP decision. Cannot be disabled.
- Analytics — anonymous, aggregated diagnostic counters that help us detect parser errors. Off by default in consent-required regions.
- Marketing — enables personalised advertising and remarketing by Google AdSense and certified vendors. Off by default until you opt in.
Until you grant a category, no cookies or localStorage entries belonging to that category are created and no data is shared with third parties. Consent signals are forwarded to Google through the official Consent Mode v2 API on every page load so that the ad_user_data and ad_personalization flags always reflect your latest choice. The full CMP technical specification is documented in our Cookie Policy.
6. GDPR, CPRA & CMP Consent Choices
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), users possess rights regarding the collection and control of personal data. Because TagEditor does not store your files, retain accounts, or maintain personal profiles, we do not possess or sell personal consumer records.
For advertising and operational cookies, we provide full control via our Consent Management Platform (CMP) and support Google Consent Mode v2. You can review or adjust your active consent choices at any time:
